In order to help limit the spread of COVID-19 Towns County Commissioner has signed the following Emergency Administrative Order to become effective Thursday, March 26 at Noon until Monday, April 6. 


EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER

FIRST AMENDMENT:  EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER


Commissioner Bradshaw would like to emphasize that this order could be extended if the Pandemic Event worsens. We will update this information if any further action is taken or if the Emergency Administrative Order is lifted or extended.


  • Restaurants shall close to the public except for drive through, delivery, or curb side (see emergency admin order above for more info) 
  • All Towns County Residents are encouraged to "Shelter in Place"
  • All non-essential business are encouraged to close, work remotely, or at a minimum practice social distancing within the workplace.
  • There shall be no public gatherings held on any property owned and operated by the County.
  • All business that provide services that normally cater to tourism are prohibited during the pendency of this order.
  • County Offices closed to the public.  Employees will be reporting to work and be available by phone 706-896-2276
  • Recreation Center closed including the indoor pickleball complex
  • Towns County Beach and Playground area closed
  • Senior Center closed excluding the Meals of Wheels program
  • Towns County Transit closed
  • Mountain Regional Library Systems closed 
  • Anyone in need of Food Pantry services call 706-896-4783 and leave a message.  Someone will return your call and help will be provided
  • Chatuge Campground is closed and not accepting reservations at this time, click here for more information regarding campground guidelines due to COVID-19
  • Bell Mountain Observatory closed including pedestrians and foot traffic, NO ONE is allowed in the park
  • Transfer Station to remain open and operate under normal hours
